At this time, Caringbah was originally one of two stations on the single track with a crossing loop, (the other being Gymea). This allowed trains to terminate at Platform 2, and then return to the city via Platform 1. In 1985, the section of the Cronulla line between Gymea and Miranda was duplicated. In 2010, the remaining sections of the Cronulla line were duplicated. This has since provided additional services to the city, from Caringbah Station, however, due to this project, trains can no longer terminate at Caringbah station.Platforms and servicesAs of the new Sydney Trains timetables on Sunday the 20th of October 2013: on weekdays the station is served by four trains per hour in each direction for most of the day, with additional trains provided during peak hours; and on weekends the station is served by four trains per hour in each direction for most of the day.AccessCaringbah has Easy Access for wheelchairs, including lift access.
